The architects, Snøhetta Arkitektur Landskap, have stated, ‘the project must cross barriers of politics, religion, culture and history. In order to accommodate this challenge we proposed a strong, symbolic iconography that would address basic human conditions that affect human society, such as the passage of time and our relationship to the Image 13 of 14 from gallery of AD Classics: Bibliotheca Alexandrina / Snøhetta. Efter en pause på omkring 2000 år er der igen være et legendarisk bibliotek i Alexandria. Norske arkitekter fra firmaet Snøhetta står bag byggeriet.
Bibliotheca Alexandrina - Ny Teknik
Det nye bibliotek er tegnet af det norske arkitektfirma Snøhetta efter en arkitektkonkurrence, hvori der deltog 600 arkitektfirmaer fra 72 lande.
